PADI Staff Instructor Course, Hurghada Egypt
The IDC Staff Instructor course trains Master Scuba Diver Trainers to act as assistants during instructor-level training courses.
The course overviews the entire PADI Instructor Development program and requires candidates to participate in evaluation training, demonstrate role model teaching skills and dive theory knowledge.
This course offers to the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainers the necessary training to teach the Assistant Instructor course and also to be part of the teaching staff during the PADI instructor training courses (IDC).
The course offers two options, oriented to respond in the best way to the specific needs of the candidates.
Option A
The course lasts for 9 days and starts 2 days before a normal IDC. During these 2 days, IDC Staff candidates will be evaluated on the circuit of the 20 exercises of Open Water course and two teaching presentation (a theory presentation and one in confined waters); also they have to pass the Standards and Procedures exam as well as the one concerning the five topics related to the diving theory (physics physiology, decompression theory, equipment, ability and environment), achieving a minimum score of 80%.
After the first evaluation phase, they will attend at least 4 lessons presented by a Course Director, where they will learn the philosophy and the methodology of evaluations applied during a PADI instructor training course. During the other 7 days, the candidates have to follow a complete IDC.
Option B
The course lasts 5 days. During the first 2 days, the candidates will follow the same program of Option A. Later, the IDC Staff Instructors will complete the training, presenting the 7 components of the Assistant Instructor course’s curriculum and they will be guided and corrected by the Course Director. This will prepare them to conduct this program in independent way, respecting PADI teaching standards.
